I came up with this idea only recently, and I admit I stole it a bit from someone else.

But what if we would make a solid list of epic soundtracks nobody knows about? Because I love discovering new epic tracks, and I assume it's the same for a lot of people on this board. :)

Some underrated and unknown soundtracks managed to find are:

- Treasure Planet - James Newton Howard
- Atlantis - James Newton Howard
- Dinosaur - James Newton Howard
- Fate/Stay Night - Kenji Kawai
- Stealth - Trevor Morris
- Avalon - Kenji Kawaii
- Transformers - Steve Jablonsky (underrated)
- Neon Genesis Evangelion - Shiro Sagisu
- Casshern - Shiro Sagishu
- Little Buddha - Ryuichi Sakamoto
- Alien 3 - Elliot Goldenthal
- Battlestar Galactica Seaons 1:4 - Bear McCreary
- The Time Machine - Klaus Badelt

Maybe some of these are known, others are unknown. They're all worth a listen.

Sugestions?

PS. I am a big JNH junkie. Yes.

Great idea! Let's see, I just picked up the Headhunter soundtrack by Richard Jacques for $2.00 at La-La Lands Records. Some of the most intense action tracks I've heard in a long time and well worth the purchase!

-Killzone 2: Joris De Mann - Absolutely amazing orchestral action music

I cannot reccomend the soundtracks to "Battlestar Galactica"(The new series) by Bear McCreary enough. It's not cheesy synth-orchestra like you might expect from most TV shows, but some of the most beautiful, unique music you will ever hear (always performed live!) Bear is a Master of percussion, and slamming taikos get mixed with bagpipes and ethnic woodwinds along with orchestras to create something amazing. They are my favorite soundtracks of all time. I suggest checking out the Season 4 soundtrack first, which is the best of the bunch. I still cant decide if Invincible or BSG Season 4 is my favorite album of all time.

Also, the exceptional soundtrack to the very medicore Dark Void is really worth a listen, especially if you like percussion. The game may have sucked - the soundtrack definetly does not!

Aleksandar, do you know the Fate/Stay Night anime soundtrack by Kenji Kawai? Has some great powerfull themes too.

And I love the Naruto anime soundtracks by Toshiro Masuda. Combining Asian music with rock... You should give it a try (if you already haven't!)

Blood Diamond is good indeed!

Another great soundtrack but underrated by many people because they call it a 'Zimmer-rip-off.'

Transformers Score (2007)

Avalon pretty much unknown but very good too, by Kenji Kawaii
