Power of Darkness, Fantazium & Platinum Series 4

  • This month, all the Trailer Music fans are watching in the same direction, and many of you (everyone?) are wondering the same thing: when will PoD be released ?
  • I asked Thomas: "It will not be done until the 16th of march. Genesis should follow shortly."
  • No release date for this one, but it's just a matter of weeks now. Thanks to Thomas for his answer.
  • Fired Earth Music will release Fantazium in April. It will encompass the "Fantasy, Heroic Adventure, Family Fun, Romance, Humor and Mischief" styles.
  • Audiomachine updated their Facebook page with a video of the recording session for Platinum 4 The album is slated for release this spring.
  • EDIT : The video was removed from the page; don't know why.
  • EDIT 2 : Thomas updated his blog with this message : "Guys, although I appreciate the excitement surrounding Power of Darkness, I really don’t understand it :) Keep in mind that this is still not a commercial album and will only be available to our clients. The actual shipping date is 16th of March but that doesn’t mean there will be demos on our site by then. It will not appear in the Extreme online catalogue either, so there’s really nothing to be excited about when it comes down to it :)
    Best,
    Thomas"

Here comes the stupid, arrogant and ignorant discussion wrecker.

In my humble opinion, sharing trailer music is not the worst thing when it comes to trailer music, and most companies have actually let it go, as there is not a way to stop it for once and for all. However, I think that when companies spend so much time and money on their commercial albums, purely to please the fans, I think sharing it is the worst and most despisable thing you can do as a fan, because it shows disrespect and this is the thing that actually does hurt the companies.

However, I always hear that sharing non-commercial albums also hurts the companies, but never the reason why it hurts the companies. They blame it on the 'surprise' effect, but I just think this is a load of bullcarp. Black Blade has been used in 5 trailers/teasers so far, and film industries still think there is a surprise effect in it? Don't make me laugh.

The fact that 99% of the TM fanbase is not connected to their clients in any other way than just the music, doesn't change a thing. They know we will get the music anyways, but why aknowledging this openly to the public?

If I were a TM company, I would do the same to extend the date of a leak as far in the future as possible.

Tigerlord, I get your point, and partially agree with it, but I don't think that Thomas is being naïve here.

My point was that it might not worth financialy to release every album to the public. As simple as that.

"People share it illegally because they haven't released their albums commercially.
If they did people would buy it. As simple as that"

You are ironic , arent you? I wish they would buy public albums.

They say that because they are greedy and hypocritical fools. The RIAA/MPAA have had a lot of fun spreading propaganda that is not based on facts or empirical and scientific evidence. The scare tactics and their approach is what has pushed people to rebel in stupid ways.

I'm thankful for the all the music and software I can afford. I haven't touched a pirated software, song or game since I was about fourteen years old. Though there were things at the time I wouldn't have bought even if I had not pirated it.

Companies don't market it publiclly because this is still a niche market and the investment wouldn't guaranty a safe return. It has nothing to do with the fact they want to stop piracy: case in point, all their albums are already available on torrents.

You expect me to believe every single member here "know someone in the industry" to get to listen to TSFH on their iPods? Do not lie to my face, and don't be a hypocrite is all I ask. Even if you did know someone who had access to these catalogues, it doesn't give you a license to give it to other people, even for their personnal enjoyment.

The fact of the matter is, if it weren't for Youtube and the word to mouth, I would never have known trailer music was a real genre. Companies like TSFH have created facebook pages for their "fans", not their "clients". Considering most of their fans are probably NOT in the trailer making business (all you need to confirm this is to visit the FB pages of their fans), we can only conclude their popularity has been striving from piracy.

I think irony can never be too funny!

No it's not. Why all the recording companies and movie studios complain that illegal file shareing kill the music/movie industry? If releasing album for the public would make the composers millioner they would probably do it. So far sell their music excliusively is ecnomically better business.

i dont think he really thinks this however its better to pretend there is no illegality than saying : " dear fans, i know you bastards share TSFH stuff not legally so do not expect public albums..  "

Thomas is talking like all the fanbase is either only professionnal or people that will never see the album, and we both know it's not the actual truth.
