I've already made two trailers for my movie Stick Figure: The Final battle (You can find them on my channel here http://www.youtube.com/user/Chipsdoom ) now I need some more epic music. The kind of music I like trailer wise, are songs that build up, pause, then release the awesomeness right at the end allowing a great build up for the action sequences. Here are the names of a few tracks ive considered, but they are either too long or not just right.

Two Steps From Hell: 1000 Ships of the Underworld

Two Steps From Hell: Protectors of the Earth

Two Steps From Hell: False King

Two Steps From Hell: ASAP

Two Steps From Hell: Sons of War

Two Steps From Hell: Breaking

It would also be cool if you could suggest other trailer music bands. :)

Hmmm... Yeah, I thought about that either, but I still think it is more agreeable than using music you aren't supposed to have.

The tracks made by Shockwave Sound are high quality, buyable and royalty-free, but are probably way too expensive for the most of us. (including me)

I am not sure if you buy albums also make you allowed to use them in your trailers. I remember when I was kid on the Lion KIng VHS was a text that says you can only watch at home and can not play for big audiance. I think you should check some royalty free library. It is just a thought.

Look in the 'store' of this forum, preview tracks on iTunes and pick out and buy the ones you like. Simple as that.

I have heard of Thomas J Bergersen giving permission to people making trailers with his music, but I don't know if he still does this. I sugest you limit yourself to commercial releases only. (Epic Score and such)

Of course I respect them, I just haven't got many other choices. Is it unheard of to get a free license for YT so long as you don't make any money/give them full credits for the song?

i think you have misunderstood me.

i know there are 10x vidz on YT (where x is a big number). of course you can keep uploading them, probably they wont take them down. im just interpreting to you the composers' request, which is "Please do not upload our music to public places" (quoting Thomas Bergersen and Aleksandar Dimitrijevic).

Now its up to you if you respect them or not. Thats all. Dispute terminated.

p.s. Spellcheck yourself :P

Dude there are 1000s of fan made trailers on YT, there are 100000s of them still standing. None of them have been taken down, IDK why. I just want to entertain people. Why so serious? I just want to have fun. Making trailers shouldn't just be restricted to semi-rich people, and production companies. Its something I enjoy doing, and there's no way i'm stopping now. Sure, maybe I don't have permission from the authors of the music; What should I do? E-mail them and ask them for a license to put them on youtube giving them full credit for the music/not making any money off my movies? Would that work without wasting 100s of dollars? And you guys really need to enable spell checking, FYI. For some reason it aint working with google chrome. I'm open to suggestions, other than quitting making them all together.

You are not supposed to make one. You dont earn money, so? Cuz of reputation?  :)

There are better things to do for earning reputation (study competitions, helping parents in housework, etc..) . I doubt you will get a job of 3d animator by putting vidz on YT. You can if you study hard, then you can apply to weta, ilm. Uploading amateur vidz on YT doesnt lead to a job imho.

No, but how else am i supposed to make a good trailer? And i'm not rich, either. Its not like i'm making any money of this, also. I'm an ametur 3d animator, I don't work at Weta, or ILM, or some big-shot production company. I just want people to see my videos, and maybe get a job. I'm not doing this for personal gain wealth-wise, I just need the rep.

What would you do if you needed to make a trailer, but weren't skilled enough to create your own trailer music? Sure, i have original trailer music in mind, but i'm not skilled enough to make it, and make it sound good. I don't really have another option, wouldn't you agree?

Then again, I could just not make trailers. But that wouldn't be fun. Making trailers is fun for me, I enjoy it. Its a problem when you, umm, don't have any music that you own legally/have no means of getting it without wasting 1000s of dollars/have no means of making your own effectively.

Sure, when i get enough money to spend on it, i'll buy them. But not here, and not now; its kind of, umm, impossible.

Sure, purpose of trailer music is using them in trailers, however not by you but trailer companies who get trailer music legally. I guess you dont work for such a trailerhouse. do you? Unless you dont you are using trailer music illegally, right? This applies to the video materials in your youtube vidz, have you got the agreement from the authorized owners of the footages to use them in your vidz?

Okay. *Removes links*

Suggestions would be cool :) And why did you block out the links to my trailer? I don't think it wouldn't be alright to make a trailer featuring their music (its, umm, the whole purpose of trailer music :)), so long as you give them credit for it.

Hi there,

please read the forum rules here.

For your information, many and many composers asked us (us, fans) to not upload their music on youtube.
