Vendetta by Position Music is out on CD

Orchestral Series 6 - Vendetta, composed by Jo Blankenburg, is available as a physical CD - you can now grab a copy on FiXt Store. You also have the possibility to wait until it is on CDBaby (it shouldn't be long before it is there as well). The pack includes a CD with choir and non-choir versions of the tracks, and a DVD featuring 48k AIFF, 320 mp3 and 192 mp3 files for all the different versions of the tracks (main/ non-choir/ no percussion/ percussion only/ choir only). Visit our store for more information.

I got my own copy this morning : the packaging is beautiful and the album sounds fantastic in wav format. I can't decide which one is the most beautiful one - the packaging, or the album in wav. Whatever. I highly recommend you to buy it!

By the way, you can hear "Conquest of Antaria” in a Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 featurette, "Dystopic" in a X-Men First Class featurette, and "Satorius" in a Harry Potter TV spot:

Hitchin' Yer Music to a Trailer: an AIMP panel discussion

Last week (Yes, I meant to post this when it actually happened) Six months ago, I attended a panel put on by the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP). It was titled "Hitchin' Yer Music to a Trailer", and was going to be all about the trailer business, and how music is related. This was actually part 2 of a similar panel held a little over a year ago, which I missed at the time. I'm going to do my best to recap what was discussed. With respect to those that spoke, I do hope I don't get anything wrong.

Position Music : action!

A great compilation of tracks made by Todd Haberman appeared on Position Music's site a while ago. It was called Todd Haberman Advance Tracks. These tracks were supposed to end up in real albums one day... and this epic day's here at last!

There are two new albums, Vol. 70 – Trailer: Hybrid/Action and Vol. 71 – Trailer: Action/Drama, both entirely composed by Todd Haberman. They are part of the Position Music - Production Music Series.

Two other trailer music albums have also been added to the series: Vol. 68 - Trailer Ammo - Annihilation (featuring horror tracks) and Vol. 69 - Trailer Ammo - Rises

VENDETTA - New orchestral release from Position Music

Featuring Position Music's newest star composer, Jo Blankenburg, VENDETTA was recorded in the Czech Republic, London, and Detroit, with the mixing work done in Los Angeles - it's been over a year in the making and the result is breathtaking.

This is a ground-breaking album that elevates trailer score to a whole new level of sonic pleasure and goosebump-causing reactions. Lush strings, haunting vocals, subtle hybrid-rock elements and epic themes causing all synapses to fire off the basic human emotions in your being.

VENDETTA is available on iTunes now in both Full Versions and Non-Choir Versions. It is also available on Amazon.

We're pleased to be able to offer the first track from VENDETTA, "Dystopic," for FREE to TMN readers. Just enter your email below for the Position Music Orchestral newsletter and click the download link on the confirmation page.

Position Music is prepared to Christmas shopping spree!

Hoy, hoy! Position Music prepares for Christmas and dediacates the fifth album of Orchestral Series to the holydays. Altough big orchestra and choir are usual parts of Chtistmas' songs I think there are ways to bring to new levels and that's what Position Music managed to achieve with this release: Bring these well known songs to - beware new word - cutting edge epicness.

James Dooley who wrote the first two second and fourth album of the Orchestral Series returned to work on this release alongside with Geoff Zanelli whoes name can be familiar if you ever watched the end credits of a movie scored by Hans Zimmer. They did pretty good job.

The album features 14 songs starting with the most epic Christmass song 'Carol of Bell' that can be heard with choir many times. Just think of the version of Home Alone. I think the composers succesfuly revised most of the songs even managed to alter  some songs' tradition values. That's how became the soft and happy mood of  'Silent Night' to a creepy thriller track with full of tension. It's also worth mentioning that most of the songs features chime or tinkle which are not commonly used in trailer music so it's kinda cheery.

News from Position Music

Okay, I know this is not old school trailer music but you cannot ignore that the world of production music does not exclusively consist of mind blowing, stunning, choir driven epic tracks. This press info is from Position Music:

The Brian Setzer Orchestra
Songs From Lonely Avenue
---------- Position Music recently serviced the new album from **The Brian Setzer Orchestra**, Songs from Lonely Avenue. The album features 13 new original songs all written by Setzer. Nine of the tracks feature orchestrations by the legendary Frank Comstock. Inspired by the attitude and tension of the film noir soundtracks from the `40's and `50's, Setzer creates songs that carry a classic cinematic mood that's missing from today's musical landscape.

Jess Penner
Love, Love, Love
---------- A recent review best describes debut solo album from singer/songwriter **Jess Penner**, Love, Love, Love: "..._each song hits you like a warm summer breeze propelled by sparkling guitars and the sweetest voice this side of the sun_"
We´ve already had some big placements with the album, including international ads for the leadoff track "**All Smiles**." Jess' "**Here Comes The Sunshine**," which was chosen as the theme song for the Days Inn ad campaign, was recently featured on "Good Morning America" by special guest Gayle King (editor of O Magazine) who highlighted the track as "happy music" to start your day.

Joel Evans & Friends
Just What The Doctor Ordered
---------- **Joel Evans** and his unique brand of swing and jazz songs in classic and retro styles returns with his latest offering Just What The Doctor Ordered. Featuring both male and female guest vocalists, Just What The Doctor Ordered provides a variety of musical styles. Songs like the up-tempo 50s-60s Vegas lounge track "**Changing My Tune**" and the bright, brisk, spirited jazz combo "**Anytime That I´m With You**" are standouts.

Orchestral Series Vol.4 released!

Hoy, hoy! Orchestral Series Vol.04 was released by Position Music. As we alredy knew the album features music by James Dooley, who also composed 2nd volume of Orchestral Series and worked with Hans Zimmer on many blockbuster movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Da Vinci Code, King Arthur etc. Click on the picture for more info!

You can also buy from Amazon here and for German Amazon users here.

Position Music: Orchestral Series 4 is coming - UPDATED

Regarding to Jim Dooley's site:

" Position Music, Inc. will release their newest album, "Orchestral Series: Volume 4 - Action / Advenure / Fantasy" on June 4, featuring new original music by Jim Dooley. Jim had previously contributed to "Orchestral Series: Volume 2: Action / Adventure / Suspense", which resulted in his music being placed in the marketing campaigns for such films as Spider-Man 3, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Body of Lies and The International, among others. The album will be available for purchase, or digital download. "

... So another public release is coming. Personally i think Jim's album, Volume 2, is the best from the three volumes, therefore i believe this upcoming volume wont be a disappointment.
