List of sites related to trailer music: Final Installment

Here is the end of the endless list of sites related to trailer music! As you may know, everything has an end (there is one exception to this, but it is off-topic, unfortunately).

Three parts were added to the list. To begin with, music libraries. In addition to this, distribution sites. Most of these sites feature music that is accessible to the public, which will allow fans to explore catalogs and libraries as much as they want. Finally, a little bonus: blogs related to trailer music

To summarize from the beginning:

Please note that we do our best to keep the list permanently updated. Feel free to recommend any interesting site that isn't listed here yet, and notify us of any change of site URL  :)

A list of official trailer music sites

The world of trailer music is flourishing and constantly growing, and it has become more and more present on the web over the last few years. There is now a profusion of all sorts of sites - from companies to composers, including distrubution sites and many others. In other words, it has turned into a real jungle. To help you find your way through this vast, complex, and truly amazing universe, and try to fulfill your endless quest in finding the best epic piece, here is a list of various sites. All of them are official and related to trailer music: music libraries, distribution sites, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, composers' sites, Youtube channels, blogs, Soundcloud accounts...

Here is the first part of the list: Facebook pages. More will come soon; stay tuned!

Warning: this is only the first part of the whole list of trailer music sites. It is horribly long and you might think that there are too many sites here. However it is not exhaustive. I might also have forgotten some that are interesting. This is due to the fact that, as you probably already know, there are so many companies,  and three to four times more composers... It is hard to list all the interesting ones without adding each and every existing site in this world. Not all of them are worth a detour. Let's keep only epic music (not production music).

2000 likes on Thomas Bergersen's Facebook page? We can make it!

If you wish to hear another preview track from the highly expected Illusions, Thomas Bergersen's first solo album that is due to come out next year... like his Facebook page, spread the word to your friends, spam them if necessary but help reach the number of 2000 likes on Facebook! A new track will indeed be posted when this number is reached. At the moment, this number is 918 and I am sure we can make it increase a lot more. From Thomas:

"I will post another preview track from "Illusions" when I hit 2000 fans so help me get there and you will be rewarded :) Happy Holidays to all of you!!!! Best, Thomas"

So...if you are not already convinced of the (absolute) necessity to like this Facebook page:

1) just listen to the tracks that have already been shared by Thomas Bergersen: "Merchant Prince", "Ocean Princess", "Starvation" and "Promise" (final version, featuring the famous celloist Tina Guo and the vocalist Merethe Soltvedt)...Some fans already say these tracks (particularly "Merchant Prince") are the best compositions he has ever done so far. Anyway, this is but a taste of what is to come, and Illusions will probably be an extraordinary album...

2) News, preview tracks and such will be posted on his page, so if you want to stay tuned, like the page! And for the curious ones, some photos of Bergersen's studio should be posted soon!

3) It would be a great way to support Thomas Bergersen, help him get known and promote his first solo album.

4) Above all,  it is a way to thank him for his patience and his generosity with his fans! As you may know, he regularly shares preview tracks and news (check his blog if you want to know more about this: http://nemesis2.wordpress.com/ ), takes time to reply to the (many) questions of the fans and has worked on the release of a public album in response to the fans' requests, Invincible, TSFH's first public album. Note that not every composer does that, sadly!

Thomas Bergersen likes TMN, yay!

Messages from the Vonlichtens: E.S. Posthumus on Facebook/Twitter

As many of you may know if you've been watching our Twitter feed, we've been ReTweeting some tweets by E.S. Posthumus.  E.S. Posthumus recently reworked their website, and just last month have built quite a presence on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.  All these sites are dutifully updated by "The Guru" (aka their web designer), as she relays messages from the Vonlichten Brothers.

Tidbits like,

"ESP is back in the studio working on something very heavy duty. More details to come soon........"

Sounds intriguing!  There was also a hinting at a Vinyl release of Makara, if there's enough interest.

If you haven't started following E.S. Posthumus on Twitter and Facebook, and you're thinking, "Why should I bother?  They just write awesome music.  Do I really need to be reminded of that with random tweets and Facebook messages?", then, well, I'm not sure we can really convince you.  But, for everyone else, you might be surprised to hear that The Guru is holding occasional contests, for autographed CD's.  That's got to be pretty cool right? (It is.)

The question for the contest that's running now is "What is the title of the ESP song that is used in conjunction with Posthumus Zone during NFL games?".  My best guesses would either be 'Unstoppable' or 'Arise', but we'll find out today (March 4) at 5PM EST what the answer is.  I have no clue what the answer is, but perhaps we'll find out March 5 6 at 5PM EST.  You can head on over there to join the discussion, and post your answer.

UPDATE: The contest is still running; there's still time to enter!  Now into Day 3!

And come on.  Who doesn't want to know what Franz and Helmut are up to?

...because it does look like they're up to something..

Two Steps From Hell reaches 5,000 Facebook fans! (we reach 178)

Trailer music companies and composers over the past year have really found a home on Facebook.  Early on there just used to be a few, and they were mostly fan run.  Now, most of them have some connection to the companies and composers they represent, and more and more people are becoming fans.  The Facebook pages are the best way for companies and composers to keep in touch with their fans, and get news updates out quickly.

Two Steps From Hell's fan page reached 5,000 fans the other day (currently the number is at 5,030).  This is quite an extraordinary achievement considering most people don't even think twice about where the music in trailers comes from.  Today Thomas Bergersen thanked their fans for all of their support.

While I find it pretty amazing, it really should be no surprise.  Trailers are seen worldwide, and the fan base for trailer music reaches across the globe.  Of course, 5,000 fans might not seem like a lot when you compare it to the almost 95,000 fans of Hans Zimmer.  However, trailer music isn't at the same level of awareness as film music is...

...yet.

Honestly, I'm not sure that it ever will be, but 5,000 fans is definitely a step in the right direction.  Here are the numbers on a few other pages:

More and more companies are considering commercial releases, so who knows how much higher these numbers will be in a year?  It's been fun to see the growth of the fanbase over the years.  You are the reason there have been more public releases, and you are the reason we post news, conduct interviews, and write articles.  So congratulations are indeed in order.  I second Thomas: you rock!  Thank you all for supporting trailer music, and keep on watching those trailers!

Now how about maybe becoming a fan of our Facebook page? ;)
