Do you know how to say "listen" in Zulu?

It’s time to introduce LaLeLa Music, a library for film, TV and other media. The origin of this curious name - lalela -  is interesting: "Lalela, (pronounced 'la-LEH-la') is Zulu for 'LISTEN.' We are a production music library with a global inflection. Take a moment and listen to our music. We pride ourselves on using the best composers in the business. They make music all over the globe, from Cape Town to LA, from Rio to New York City." "Lalela Music is a USA/South African company, and we aim to bring together the best of two great countries in music."

The library features many different styles of music. LaLeLa recently released a quite epic album, called Intense Trailers : "Intense Trailers delivers high-impact tracks using epic orchestral treatments, heavy percussion and sound design".  Mark Petrie has composed several cues for this album, and they are very epic (listen to “Celestial” and “Polar Shift”!).

Feel free to listen to older albums like Epic, Action, Epic Global Rock … (all of them are in the Cinema category on LaLeLa Music's site).

LaLeLa Music is also on Facebook. Here is a video introducing their work (not only epic music, but everything else as well).

A bunch of new albums

Two Steps From Hell has discreetly released a new album, but don't get overexcited... it's not Two Steps From Heaven or EclipseBalls to the Wall, the new album, features 40 drums and percussion tracks. The style of the album is described as "action/drama/epic".  You can listen to it on Extreme Music.

Music Candy has recently released an epic album, The Big Screen, which has been composed by Rich Lewis and features 10 truly epic tracks, with orchestra and choir. I particularly enjoyed "Victory". Listen to the album on Music Candy's site.

Omni Music has also released an interesting album. Guess its name... It's called Epic (that wasn't hard to guess, was it?) It is made of 14 tracks of different styles (orchestral, female vocal, comedy...), composed by various artists: "Sweeping orchestra, pounding drums, and emotional themes that can only be described by one word: Epic. Fourteen tracks with broadcast edits for a truly cinematic experience." Visit Omni Music's site to discover Epic.

LIVE interview with Aleksandar Dimitrijevic - May 22, 1pm PDT

Hang onto your headphones everyone!

I'm very pleased to announce that TMN will be conducting a live streaming interview with composer Aleksandar Dimitrijevic!

Since an in-person video interview, like we usually have done, wasn't possible, we decided we would try the next best thing: an interview via Skype. But because we're TMN, we had to take things one step further. (When you listen to epic music all day, normal just doesn't cut it)

So we'll be streaming the interview, via webcam, live, for you to watch and listen to. Not only that, but you'll have the opportunity to chime in with questions or comments via a (moderated) text chat. Epic right?

That means if you've been wanting to ask Aleksandar a question, ever since you heard "Clash of the Titans" in surround sound, you will soon have that chance!

For those of you who don't know who Aleksandar Dimitrijevic is, his website might help. He's written trailer music cues for Immediate Music, Fired Earth Music, and has recently started his own company, Teddy Bear Music. His compositions are some of the best in the business, and have been featured in over 30 major motion picture trailers.

This is a unique interview, so don't miss it! I, Michael Morone, will be asking the questions, and I'm looking forward to it. We're very glad that Aleksandar has allowed us this opportunity.

The date & time for the interview is Saturday, May 22 at 1pm PDT (Pacific Time, UTC -8:00)

Aleksandar will be there. Will you?

Also, don't forget to factor in whether or not your country follows Daylight Savings Time when determining when to tune in.

Interview will go live at 1:00PM PDT, 2:00PM MDT, 3:00PM CDT, 4:00PM EDT, etc...

If you live outside the US, you can use this time zone chart.

Epic Chorale Action

One word: amazing. This new album by Immediate Music is a really nice work. Exactly what I like (let me be subjective, please). Huge choir and booming orchestra rules. I wonder why this album is not made premium. Anyway it should be in my opinion.
