Two new demos by Thomas Bergersen for Hollywood Strings

East West/Quantum Leap posted full versions of Thomas Bergersen's two new demo tracks for their latest sample instrument library, Hollywood Strings. You may have heard parts of these in the video intro, but you can now hear them in their completion.

You can go to the product page to check out the demos, or we have the direct links below:

Allegro Agitato (mp3) (wav)

Love Suspended (mp3) (wav)

Both tracks are great, but I have to say I'm more partial to Allegro Agitato. It's 5 whole minutes of Bergersen epicness.

East West/Quantum Leap's newest string library is a big deal in the professional composing world. Listening to the demos I'm extremely impressed with the realism of the strings. As a learning composer myself, I look forward to the day when I can afford this. While nothing beats a live orchestra, this is certainly going to come close.

In other news, Thomas wrote that he has been sick for a week now with H1N1. We wish him the best, and hope he gets better!

Contest, Sycross and more...

Hoy, hoy! Okey, I know, some of this info might not be fresh for some of you, but we thought each on their own doesn't deserve a new post so we waited till we have enough to post it. That typically true at the last one.

  • I was wandering on Soundsonline's forum again. If you missed : there is a contest to show your song writting skills and to win an enormous bar of chochlate a Complete Composers Collection PLAY Edition. In my opinion these are fits into the dynamic, might be trailer music category: Pharaoh's Glory by Jeff Broadbent, Cruor Of Diabolus by Tarek Mansur, The pirate returns by Marco Giardina, Lacrimosa by Rotem Moav, but you should check the rest here.
  • Ray Li, who is a young, self-taught composer and releasing his debut album Final Horizon, sent us a letter to help him promoting his songs. So click here to listen his music! I think 'Life' is pretty cool.
  • Also some 'so-last-year' news: the hompages of APM and Groove Addicts have a new design.
