Imminent impact distorted (a lil' bit..)

I mean delayed. The impact of an asteroid. At least to 2012. Regarding the Mayans. Ok, jokes aside, just noticed there are only 107 plays of Imminent Impact (music from trailer The Day The Earth Stood Still ) by Distortion MX. This is the first "public release" of DMX and there is almost no interest for it. Then suddenly i realized the reason: we forgot to post this to TMN!!!  -.-' Whatever, here you go.

Furthermore there are two interviews with Kevin Teasley, composer of Imminent Impact, made by Emusician. Interview1 Interview2.

Upcoming interview with Kevin Teasley

Hoy, hoy! You might almost forget that Distortion MX, trailer music library, planned to release an album for the public. You also might keep on thinking why would I know this company? Their song composed for The Day the Earth Stood Still trailer put their name on the attention of trailer music fans. But who stands behind that fantastic music? And what about the mentioned public release?

You can find answers all of these questions in our next interview, because our next interviewee is Kevin Teasley who is the owner and composer of Distortion MX. So if you have any questions in your mind don't hesitate to post it here! You might want to check his MySpace or an interview on emusician.com.

Delicacies from Globus and even more...

Hoy, hoy! Probably most of you got the newsletter from Imperativa Records, but if you don't then let me summarize it.

  • They wish you happy holidays and bla bla bla...
  • 25% discount during the holidays...
  • an all in one box set...
  • Pre-order offer of Trailer Music Live CD...
  • and: "The year 2010 will be the busiest release schedule for Imperativa Records, as I'm excited to report that both Immediate and Globus will be finalizing their respective CDs in the early months of the year, in addition to one or two Live CD releases as well. [..]."
  • And a random news: Distortion MX has a Facebook page.

New release for the public

Hoy, hoy! Great news for today! More then a week ago MJM brought my attention to a forum thread on AdTunes. As it says Distortion Music, the creators of the music of The Day the Earth Stood Still's trailer, plans to release an album of trailer music. Paula Rose who is the music assistant of Distortion Music wrote the following on the forum:

We would like to let you know that in about 3 months we will make available a full album of all of the music similar to what we do for trailers! The composer of the music would like to thank all of you for the overwhelming response to this song!

And she answered my letter too.

In a few months Distortion will make available a cd of music in the style of the Imminent Impact song that has become so popular. I have posted a response on the AdTunes' forum and will check in regularly with developements.

Check the forum regularly so you won't miss any news! That what I should have done, but I wrote a letter instead and forgot to check the forum, hence I missed Paula's response. That's why I didn't post this news earlier.

UPDATE: News from Paula:

Most likely this will be a digital release :)
