Winners of the Globus Songwriting Contest announced!
Very late tonight Yoav Goren made a video announcing the winners of the Globus Songwriting Contest. I won't spoil the video. Check it out below:
Congratulations to the winners! It was a very cool contest and opportunity. I'm really looking forward to hearing the reworked "Invictus" cue on the next release.
Yoav mentions he will post some honorable mentions on the Globus Facebook page, so we'll keep our eyes out for that.
Update on Globus songwriting contest
Here it is the update on Globus Songwriting Contest (GSC) Yoav posted on FB:
A few submitted songs that are almost "homeruns", but not one that stands out as the obvious winner. Lots and lots of good stuff. Cannot announce a winner(s) yet - looks like I will be drawing elements from a few excellent submissions and creating sort of a mashup into a final song - or two or three....:-)
Overall, quite impressed with the level of creativity. I need another week to finalize-this will also push the album release date past the New Year. Right now it is unclear the amount of new recordings with orch & choir that I will need, and how much time it will take to produce and mix. Sorry for the prolonged tension
-Yoav
So that means album is coming in 2011 with music submitted by fans. Have you participated too?
Globus' songwriting contest!
Hoy, hoy! All fans are very excited about the new studio album of Globus and it seems we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The new album should be released during winter this year and you can be part of the creative team!
Any fan can help Globus to make the next album a bit
more awesome and the only thing you need to do is use your grey matter to write the next Globus song from an existing Immediate Music piece. If you want to take part of this contest all you have to do is send an e-mail to Globus with the subject title "I want to write a song for Globus", and answer a specific question in the body of the email. See Yoav's contest rules for the exact process. Do not hesitate to apply because if there are not 50 enterprising people, there won't be any contest at all. Don't fear that you are untalented, because Yoav Goren doesn't need a professionaly produced and recorded song; he's only looking for something that moves him.
Check out the official statment of Yoav not just for more and exact information but to find ou more about the process of how a track from the Immediate Music library becomes a Globus song.
I encourage everyone to apply because Yoav's offer is pretty fair as you will got your share of royalty payments. It should also be a fantastic experience and a pretty fun thing to be a part of. :)
AudioGrave's contest
Hoy, hoy! A few days ago we bring the news of the sample tracks of a newly bron company AudioGrave. Daniel Yount the owner and composer of the library just sent us a mail to inform us that a blog is up and running where we can find the mosr recent and first hand news of AudioGrave's activity. He also set up an account at SoundCloud.
Moreover Daniel Yount has contest for all the trailer music fans, but I guess mostly for those who has some graphic skills. The task is to dream and execute the cover art of the upcoming AudioGrave's album called 'From the Darkness'.
Here are some conditions:
- Use good judgment. Be creative but stay within our "theme" (dark ominous creepy/heroic). No gay looking rainbows please.
- It needs to be a decent quality picture. Nothing under 500 x 300 please.
- The deadline is December 4th, 2010.
