New Cavendish albums
Four albums have been added to the Cavendish Trailer series. Three of them (Epic Choral Trailers, Rock Hybrid Trailers and Drummers of God), are based on the Gothic Storm albums (Epic Choral, Rock Hybrid and Drummers of God), that were remixed and remastered for the Cavendish library. The fourth album, Death Metal Trailers, is entirely new.

The first three albums were composed by Christopher Haigh, Dan Graham, Kyle Robertson, Thomas Player, Leon Butler, David Lowe. Epic Choral Trailers (CAVT8) features "Big sound, large choir, huge orchestra, massive cues! Size does matter when it comes to trailers and we've called these EPIC for a reason - they have all you need to push the drama to the next level." Rock Hybrid Trailers (CAVT10) contains "Riffs, rock and raucous choirs… explosive orchestral trailers with a power chord injection to push the action to the next stage.". Drummers of God (CAVT9) is a percussion album: "Open the doors to the madness of the percussion trailer. Building rhythms, massive hits, hammers, anvils, dirty synths and crazy sound effects."

As for Death Metal Trailers (CAVT11), it is "Frantic thrashing guitars, colossal choirs, speed driven bass drum licks and a touch of madness. These trailers have been remixed on the anvil of death metal rock until only the most brutal of action trailer cues remain". It was composed by Christopher Haigh, Sam Hayles, Daniel Rovira, Dan Graham, Thomas Player, Kyle Robertson, Leon Butler.

Hoy hoy! Cavendish Music just released a new album called Action/Thriller 3. The music was composed by Jochen Flach, Lorenzo Piggici and all of the tracks featuring choir with orchestra. Check it here!

Also you can discover some improvements on Boosey and Hawks' site such as the new cool flash based 'Latest Release' part of the main page and it's much more easier to survey an album's tracks, because main compositions appaer on one click without alternate versions and such.
Oh Eight
It’s more then a year now that the idea of site for trailer music came into my mind. First I started to write about it in my old blog in Hungarian language along with movie reviews, scores and many other thing. Afterwards I decided to dedicate a blog to trailer music. It was a year ago. So the idea of this blog is one year old, but as you can see on the right side of the page I had a really long intermission when disregarded the blog for months. But one shiny day greg asked me to let him write on my blog that was hosted by Google that time. So he joined to the “crew” as a co-writer and he wrote some news. That time the basic motivation for me was that I can not let him write more news on my blog than I did so I started to care of the blog hence started to shed a lot of news.
Later I felt that Google’s system is not good enough. It was too simple, had some deficiencies and I decided to change to Drupal. With Drupal the site moved to my friend’s server. That time we tried to rope in MAC. We talked much about the site and its future and we agreed that the basic step to be a professional is a domain. So I bought trailermusicnews.com. For various reasons I couldn’t store the site on my friend’s server anymore so the site moved again to where it is now.
During the months over hundred posts are born. I think we posted every important news, but we tried to keep up the interest to the site with posts in other topic like film or game score. We tried to involve our readers into the life of the site with games, like picture puzzle, some quiz question etc. But I think, our greatest achievement is the interview with Chris Filed till now.
Since the site is started we got constant positive feedback from our readers and from the companies as well which we got in touch with. Let’s see some!
[..]Since we too, are fans of trailers and trailer music in general, we'll have to bookmark your site and visit it more often.[..]
– VideoHelper
[..]Site looks great. Glad you are covering the genre.[..]
– Position Musicpo
[..]We think your website is a great idea. We are flattered that you would like to include us.We are a much smaller company than our competition.[..]
– Future World Music
We try to secure our legitimcy so this site will never support any kind of illegal music sharing. We just want to inform people and drew people closer to trailer. So I just want to have an overview here of 2008 about what happened around the trailer music. Without the pretence of fullness
In January of 2008 E.S Posthumus finally released 'Cartographer'. After 7 years it was pleasure to hear something from them, but I think we expected something else. Something that more similar to 'Unearthed'. For me 'Cartographer' was a bit of disappointment.
Later, we got some words of Immediate Music that they wanted to release of a new album with a bunch of trailer music. So on spring and on summer we burnt in fire to get 'Trailerhead'. I think it was a great album, because it contained some tracks from 'Themes from Orchestra and Choir 3'. So it was truly “Fresh from the Fire”. Immediate Music released the concert DVD of 'Globus' on summer.
On second half of 2008 the whole amount of public releases were available on iTunes or on Amazon which just simple shocked us. Cavendish Music, Abaco Music, Stripsound Music and later West One Music released a lot of great albums from their library for which we were really grateful. It seems that Immediate Music’s invention made an innovation.
From the most popular company Two Steps From Hell we could hear a completely different music that is strange from their style we used to. I think of Ashes now. Legend was released; I mean we could enjoy a lot of tracks from this album during several trailers.
And finally I just want to write down all of albums those are worth mentioning. Of course it is possible I miss something.
Anubis, Feed the Beast, Canis Maximus, Argos, Top Dog, Dog Rock, Dogs of War, Mechanimal, Alpha Dog, Water, Earth and Fire, Heroic Action Trailers, Power Percussion Trailers, Epic Journeys, Epic Action and Adventure, Eton Path, Soundtrack for the Voices in my Head, Apocalypse 2012, Rock Hybrid Trailers, Cinematic Trailers 8: Epic/Drama, Dreams & Imaginations, Orchestral Series Vol.3, Platinum Series 2 (Thx to Jp Perdition & Elendil)
Hmm... And I am just wondering what is about the mysterious Scoregasm? But later about this. I will write about what we can expect from 2009 in 2009.
Cavendish Music Update
Hoy, hoy! Chris droped me a mail about the improvement of his site. He managed to expand the list of released albums of Cavendish Music with several titles. As he said the list is incomplete, but he is working on it to make it full. Although I think this list is the only one which intend to gather Cavendish's album entirely and makes it successfully. So keep it up!
Cavendish, Abaco, Strip Sounds, Free Beer, Immortality...Err
Hoy, hoy! I have mentioned that Cavendish Music and more are available on iTunes and Amazon, but that time we didn't know how many albums that really mean. Check out here the huge numbers! Not just Cavendish Music, but Abaco Music and Strip Sounds Music are available too. Click here and here for their full album list.
The guy who created the above linked site made a great effort to gather the links of each album from iTunes and Amazon. So a big thanks to him and spend some time to browse his store.
