Epica, Audiomachine's latest release

Audiomachine's highly anticipated album, Epica, is now out

According to Audiomachine, "Epica is the premier release in our highly anticipated Artist Series. Featuring live orchestra and choir recorded at the world famous Trackdown in Australia,  Epica contains profoundly uplifting and inspired dramatic tracks written by celebrated audiomachine composer Paul Dinletir."

An amazing demo of the album is available on Audiomachine's site. You can also listen to it here:

Epica - coming soon from audiomachine (and a public release!)

Audiomachine recently announced that their next trailer music release, Epica, is coming soon. And it really does live up to its name.

Paul Dinletir published a preview medley of the album on SoundCloud. I'll let the music speak for itself:

Trailer editors aren't the only ones who have a lot to look foward to. Fans will be happy to hear that audiomachine also announced they will be releasing an album to the public called Chronicles.

News from City of the Fallen, Audiomachine, Gothic Storm...

  • More Audiomachine albums are available for listening on BeatboxMD. Nothing really new, since most of the albums are already rather old. But hey, you can listen to them. Also, if you visit the Audiomachine site, you will notice a new addition the the library: the Ensemble Series: Volume 1.  "What is The Ensemble Series: Volume 1? Well . . . it's action, acoustic pop, ambient, backends, detuned chaos, drama, drums, electronica, modern drama, modern rock, quirky comedy and more.  All served up on one tasty disc". Listen to the demo here.
  • The new Gothic Storm site is now online, with a much cooler design.
  • Finally, Chris Haigh, who has composed music for companies like Gothic Storm and Immediate Music, has created a new group on Facebook. There's absolutely nothing on it for the time being, but... new stuff will be posted there soon, once Chris' new site is launched. So, feel free to "like" it to be kept posted, and spread the word if you like his music.

audiomachine: the video interview

It's finally here. The interview we've all been waiting for. Last October, I sat down with Paul Dinletir (co-owner and composer), and Kevin Rix (composer) of audiomachine. audiomachine is a music production house for television and motion picture advertising campaigns. It was fantastic meeting them at their beautiful studio, and having the opportunity to ask them a few questions. I will let the interview speak for itself.

It took longer than I anticipated, and considering I did this one on my own, I think it came out quite well. I hope you enjoy it. If you like it, please spread the word about it.

You can watch part 1 above, or on YouTube. For the best sound quality I recommend watching it in HD.  Part 2 will go live in February.

Interview conducted, produced, & edited by Michael Morone.

Composer Paul Dinletir is the co-owner of audiomachine: a music production house for television and motion picture advertising campaigns.  Kevin Rix is also a composer for audiomachine.  You can visit audiomachine on their official website, or on Facebook.

audiomachine on TV

Not long after we mentioned audiomachine's latest release,  Deus Ex Machina, there's already news of it being used in movie marketing campaigns! This TV spot for True Grit, uses the cue "Kill em All". Watch it below, and listen to the track on audiomachine's Facebook page.

Another cue, "Judge and Jury", from the new release was used in a different True Grit spot. You can watch that trailer here, and audiomachine was kind enough to post it as well for listening.

Finally, "Sands of Time" from Labyrinth was used in a TV Spot for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. This cue was also in a Legend of the Gaurdians TV Spot earlier this year. I love this piece personally. I just think it's really enjoyable to listen to even on its own, and you can on audiomachine's FB page. You should also check out the way it was meant to be heard below:

Interestingly enough, Paul Dinletir, now co-owner of audiomachine, wrote the track "Here Comes the King", for X-Ray Dog's Canis Rex II. Recently the track was used in the Dawn Treader theatrical trailer. This track was licensed for the first Chronicles of Narnia film. It's still a great track 5 years later, and hopefully will help lead to a successful opening weekend for the third film in the series.

Michael Patti takes us from Mockup to Orchestra

Michael Patti recently did an awesome short little video about the process of how a trailer piece gets made. Of course, you can apply this to any cue that gets recorded, but in this particular video, Michael takes the track "Hope Returns", from audiomachine's Labyrinth, and shows the process of bringing it from the page, to the mockup, to the recording hall. The recording hall should look familiar to anyone who has seen the Full Tilt video interview. You can watch it below, or check it out on his blog.

His blog, by the way, is called "Where's the Orchestra". Michael has posted a bunch of audiomachine cues he composed, comparing his mockup, to the real thing. It's very interesting to hear the difference. Where does the orchestra bring their own dynamics and expression, and what parts stand out more live versus sampled? The real thing is almost always better I think, but wow those mockups are impressive! Another very cool thing is that he has posted the sheet music for each of them in .pdf. While that's pretty meaningless to anyone who doesn't read notation, for an aspiring composer like me, it's a gold mine of material to look over and study. Thank you Michael Patti!

Deus Ex Machina...a new album is out

Audiomachine's latest album, Deus Ex Machina, is finally out. The news has been posted a short time ago on Audiomachine's site, along with another preview track (called "Brain Mismatch") (click "Listen to the mp3" to hear it). Two other preview tracks have already been shared by Audiomachine on their Facebook page ("Bliztkrieg" and "Life Acquisition"). Check them out if you haven't already!

Deus Ex Machina, according to its creators,  "features intense, modern, hybrid combined with edgy electronics and orchestra.  These tracks are guaranteed to provide maximum auditory stimulation." It is indeed the impression given by the preview tracks!

audiomachine interview: coming soon!

I've been busy directing a short film, but now that's been shot, I can work on the interview with composers Paul Dinletir, and Kevin Rix, of audiomachine that I conducted a few weeks ago.

I just uploaded the footage for editing, and I think it looks and sounds pretty darn good .  I'm looking forward to piecing something nice together over the next two weeks, and we'll have it up on the site in no time!

There's a lot more stuff in the works as well. So stay tuned! :)

Audiomachine posted Deus Ex Machina samples...

... on their Facebook page. Both pieces, Blitzkrieg and Life Acquisition are from Deus Ex Machina, which comes this month.
