How to sell Thor in Japan: use Immediate Music

How do you advertise a movie about an alien warrior named Thor who defends Earth, in Japan?

The same way you do it in the US of course: great music!

This Japanese Thor trailer features Aleksandar Dimitrijevic's "Into the Eternal Twilight" from Immediate Music's Epic Chorale Action 1. It carries most of this trailer, from 1:00 until the end. Check it out below.

Audiomachine had a custom cue in the 2nd US trailer and that trailer has a decidely different, modern, dare I say, "Inception inspired" feel. This trailer relies more on an epic orchestral sound. Which do you prefer?

You don't have to fly to Japan to see this movie though. If you did, there's time to buy plane tickets as you would have to wait until July 1st. It comes out in theaters in the US & Canada on May 6. If you live anywhere else, what are you watching this trailer for? Go see it now!

On a related note, Aleksandar entered a TRON Remix contest.

You can listen to his track sumbission here, and vote for it if you like it! It's pretty rad.

The new Epic Score albums at iTunes

Hoy, hoy! As Epic "Screaming choir" Score promised their two new albums hit the store of iTunes yesterday. Epic Action & Adventure Vol. 6, composed by Gabriel Shadid, feature 13 orchestral compostions with epic choir plus non vocal versions.

Epic Action & Adventure Vol. 7 album includes 14 unique songs and non choir versions of each song. The composers contributed to the birth of this album are Aleksandar Dimitrijevic, Alex Pfeffer, Aaron Sapp, and Tarek Mansur.

Things are about to get Epic... Score!

Epic Score has announced it will be releasing 2 new albums next week, hopefully on Oct. 1st.

ES017 - Epic Action & Adventure - Volume 6 (right)

ES018 - Epic Action & Adventure - Volume 7 (left)

Epic Score posted the track lists to both albums on their Facebook page. Volume 6 is entirely composed by Gabriel ShadidVolume 7 has tracks by a variety of composers, some of whom have been mentioned on this site before: Tarek Mansur, Aleksandar Dimitrijevic, Aaron Sapp, and Alex Pfeffer.

ES019 - Epic Textures - Volume 4 featuring Tarek Mansur's work again, is also being released, but not for the public.

You can listen to a demo track of each of these albums here. We'll keep you posted!

Also, a cue from Epic Score was used in the recent trailer for season 2 of Stargate Universe. I'm a Stargate fan, but I never watched this show. What do you guys think of the trailer? Can anyone name the track? :

The Aleksandar Dimitrijevic live chat: yes, it did happen!

Well, this is quite embarrassing, but I wanted to finish up this story. For those that don't remember, because it was so long ago, we did a live chat with Aleksandar Dimitrijevic, via webcam (below is a picture to prove it!). It was a first for us, and I was hoping that things would go perfectly. They didn't, and that's why there was never a follow up article with a video of the interview. Actually, there could have been that; it just would have been without audio.

That said, I wanted to have something posted that kind of summarized what was said. It's a little silly to do this when it happened so long ago, but I did promise this, and I'd like some closure. I'm sorry to that those that missed it who won't have the opportunity to see it. To give you a picture of what happened, I asked Aleksandar often clumsy questions as I struggled with the few second delay, and Aleksandar provided some wonderful insight and thoughts about himself and trailer music.

I get into more detail, after the jump...

Trailerhead: Saga is now available for preorder!

While we may not have the CD in our hands as we had initially hoped, preorders are finally open for the next chapter in the Trailerhead Saga! As you can tell by the beautiful cover art, the music should evoke images of gods holding flaming planets on their shoulders. That's what I've been thinking ever since i first heard "Dark Side of Power"! Honest!

The samples on the preorder page give us a great look at the extended versions of the tracks on the CD, and as expected they sound fantastic. The run time is similar to Trailerhead at a solid 50 minutes.

If the promise of such epic music isn't enough, the first 50 preorders get an exclusive bonus DVD of Immediate' s performance last summer at Trailer Music Live! If you find that you are too late, well, at least you have concrete proof that staying up until the wee hours of the morning isn't a sign of an abnormal sleep cycle, but an EPIC endeavor! What if you don't sleep at all? In that case, I should probably be preparing myself for the invasion of the cybermen.

Update:  " The first 50 orders will receive the bonus DVDs. That has already been
completed. All orders from now until July 20 will be included in a drawing which
will have 5 winners." - Yoav Goren

Update 2: Thanks to everyone who have pre-ordered TRAILERHEAD:SAGA.
Bonus DVDs have been allocated to all confirmed orders up until 11:00PST July 6 (even though more than 50). Any order during the next two weeks is automatically eligible for a drawing to receive the Bonus DVD of Immediate performing live at the Trailer Music Live event.

The Trailerhead Saga

We've known for quite a while now that Immediate Music has been working on their sequel to Trailerhead, but the name of the album has remained ellusive. You have all weighed in, and at last the name of the album has been revealed! Before the end of the month, you will be able to hold a shiny new copy of Trailerhead: Saga in your hands! I'm dissapointed that my idea of "The Epic Drama Invincible Trailerhead Has A Good Idea During The Cataclysm" wasn't picked.....something to do with the name having already been used before. I'm not sure what they were talking about there. I know it all sounds too good to be true, but Immediate has posted a short clip of the mastering session on facebook!

The album will feature 13 tracks, all of which have been extensively extended and re-cut to provide for the best listening experience - these aren't just trailer cues anymore! It will be availible as both a physical CD from Imperativa Records and as a download from all the major mp3 stores! Get ready to wage the dramatic battle you've always wanted to have with your neighbors annoying chihuahua, because some top-notch epicness is coming your way!

Immediate needs YOUR help in naming the Trailerhead sequel, and Francesco De Leonardis has a suprise for us!

Immediate's long awaited new album is nearing completion, but it is still lacking one very important thing: a name! There are only a few days left before the album goes off to the printers, and Immediate wants your suggestions! If you have the lamest most awesome idea for a title, then head on over to facebook and let Immediate know! The album will feature at least 1 track (Dark Side of Power) by Aleksandar Dimitrijevic, who we interviewed today!

Speaking of public releases, Francesco De Leonardis has announced that he will be releasing several unreleased tracks from his old album Epic Drama Teaser/Trailer Vol. 2 to tide us over while we wait for Prometheus Rising. It won't be an entire album's worth of music, but the tracks will come at a very low price! So rejoice! The last of your life's savings, which you thought could only buy Invincible and "Trailerhead 2", can give you one last burst of epicness. Because really, is there anything more worthy to spend your life's savings on then Epic Music?

A new song from City of the Fallen, news from Immediate, and the interview with Aleksandar Dimitrijevic!

Ryan Amon, the amazingly talented nuclear physicist / musician behind City of the Fallen, has posted a track from his upcoming release "Revelations" on facebook! Titled "Name Above All Names", its a hauntingly beautiful piece with the same incredible quality that we have come to expect from Ryan's work!

Yoav Goren and the rest of the Immediate Music team are still working hard on the hotly anticipated sequel to trailerhead! On facebook, they announced that they were "Putting in final editing and mix revisions Thursday and Friday. Mastering session, which is the final process before sending the music off to the printing plant, is booked for May 26. So, we ARE getting there ;-)" This means that the album should be out sometime in June, just in time to accompany those family road trips, where you can annoy delight your family with some epic sounds!
